Meet the Team
Gurdip Lidder
Founder and Director
With more than 35 years’ experience in the financial services sector, Gurdip leads the team at GKL Mortgage Brokers.
After leaving college, Gurdip’s professional career began at Barclays bank, where she had several roles in cashiering, personal banking and then as a branch manager.
Achieving her CeMAP qualification in 2015, Gurdip is an experienced and respected mortgage and protection broker. After leaving Barclays, Gurdip set up as an independent Hitchin mortgage broker in September 2018.
Gurdip is married to Bal and has three children: Regina, Jasmine and Sam. She enjoys spending time with family, travelling, going out and walking to keep fit.
Kerri Fox
Mortgage and Protection Broker
Kerri has worked in the financial industry for the last 22 years, 11 of those have been spent as a mortgage and protection broker.
Kerri started her career at Barclays bank working her way through several roles
including cashier, personal Banker before becoming a Mortgage advisor and
completing her CeMAP qualification in 2015
Kerri joined GKL at the start of 2026 as a self – employed mortgage and protection broker.
Kerri has helped many clients over the years with their remortgage needs and
helping them purchase their dream home as well as being able to help with their
protection needs should the worse happen.
Kerri lives locally with her husband Jimmy and their children. They love spending time
together and enjoying holidays in Cyprus where her family live.
Annabel Bateman
Mortgage and Protection Administrator
Annabel supports the team in all aspects of financial administration, marketing and social media.
With a varied career in media, events and copywriting, Annabel decided to look for a local role that fitted around looking after her daughters.
Outside of work (and parenting) Annabel loves socialising and being active.
The GKL Journey
Gurdip explains why she left Barclays in 2018 to set up her own business as a Hitchin mortgage broker:
“There were several factors behind my decision to start my own business. While I had enjoyed a successful career at Barclays, I could only recommend their mortgage products. This meant I had to turn a lot of people away. I knew that being independent would mean I could help anyone, regardless of their credit rating or personal circumstances. Also, my children were growing up, and I wanted a better work-life balance.
Establishing GKL Mortgage Brokers has enabled me to help numerous clients in their home-buying journey. By also offering protection insurance, my clients have the peace of mind knowing that should the worst happen, they will be financially secure and able to stay in their home.”
